Oakridge 

People who value a slower paced environment and family will love living in Oakridge. This part of Calgary is very quiet and the streets are peaceful.
Offering single family dwellings, townhouse condos, and an estate section, Oakridge has a home for everyone. 

The greatest things about Oakridge are the parks & green spaces,  large trees, wonderful schools, amenities, the people and being so close to nature. Oakridge is home to approximately 20 parks/playgrounds, borders the Tsuut'ina reserve and is just steps to the Glenmore Resevoir/Weaselhead Park.  It is an active community with many residents taking advantage of the beautiful outdoors walking their dogs, roller blading,  riding bikes, and playing at the outdoor rink. The Glenmore Sailing Club, Southland Leisure Center and F45 Fitness are close by and offer endless possibilities for an active lifestyle. South Glenmore Park hosts the Quinterra Legacy Garden, a x-country ski track, Pump Track and a Variety Park (Spray park & playground). Oakridge has a very active Community Association which offers a rink, squash and tennis courts, and a community garden.
 
Transportation
Although Oakridge is not close to an LRT station, the new BRT can get residents downtown and to Mount Royal University quickly, there are also regular buses with stops on Palliser Drive and Oakwood Drive. With the completion of the SW Ring Road access is much easier and a trip to the new Costco or Westhills shopping center takes only minutes.  Once the West portion of the Ring Road is complete getting to the mountains will be a breeze. Oakridge residents can access the Ring Road via 90th Avenue or Southland Drive.

Schools & Childcare
Parents and children will value the proximity to primary schools and childcare, which are within walking distance from all properties in Oakridge. The designated Elementary School is Nellie Mcclung which is located in Palliser. Alternatively, children residing in Oakridge are given priority in the lottery system at the Louis Riel Science School (K-9) located on Oakfield Drive.  John Ware is the designated Junior High School located in Palliser and High School students from the community will attend Henry Wise Wood in Kelvin Grove.

Services
Oakridge is home to award winning dining with Purlieu Modern Bistro & Trullo Trattoria. Oakbay Plaza on 90th Avenue has dining options,  the Point Public House,  a Convenience Store,  Liquor Store, a Gluten Free Bakery and various other businesses. There is a small strip mall on Palliser Drive that offers a nail & hair salon, dining, and the Apple Lady that offers yummy organic produce. The Co-op shopping center on Southland Drive is undergoing a major transformation, the updated development will offer mixed use retail, residential & office spaces while creating green initiatives and modernizing the community's infrastructure.

Housing
There are approximately 5800 people living in Oakridge with about 90% of the population own their home while the remainder are renters. Roughly 3/4 of the dwellings are detached single family homes while the rest are mainly townhouses.
