Pump Hill

Pump Hill

Pump Hill has been around since 1967, but has only been recognized as a community since 1991. Before then, it was considered part of its neighboring community Palliser. The area has become more exclusive for Calgary's upper class. The name Pump Hill was taken from an old windmill that operated in the area. The windmill used to pump water for the homes around the neighborhood and in turn lent its name to the new community.

Pump Hill shares a community association with neighboring Palliser and Bayview, the community center offers full time daycare/preschool and outdoor rink.  There is a great toboggan hill located at the Southland Dry Pond and quiet tree-lined streets for walking. The Jewish Community Center is located in the Community and offers various fitness programs for all ages, childcare services and a swimming pool.

Transportation

Although Pump Hill is not close to an LRT station, the new BRT can get residents downtown quickly, there are also regular buses with stops on 90th Avenue. With the completion of the SW Ring Road access is improved and a trip to the new Taza Development or Westhills shopping center has never been easier.  Once the West portion of the Ring Road is complete getting to the mountains will be a breeze. Pump Hill residents can access the Ring Road via 90th Avenue.
